New Years Resolution

So, ok . . . we all know that new years resolutions are usually broken by January 2. So, I tried something different.

On December 20, I stopped eating deep fried foods - donuts, french fries, onion rings etc. On January 20, I will stop eating sweets - candy, cakes, etc. To satisfy my sweet tooth, I have found reduced fat, reduced sugar ice cream. I will also increase my intake of fruits. An then finally on February 20, I will cut white sugar, flour, rice etc. Potatoes are ok . . . they are a source of fiber, especially if you leave the skin on. A guy that I work with is a personal trainer and he tells me that if you do these three things, you can lose 30 pounds in a year.

Since I have more than 30 pounds to lose, I will need to exercise as well. Beginning on December 26, I told myself I was going to exercise every day until January 2 (I was on vacation that week, so had no excuses). Well . . . I attained that goal . . . I did yoga every day and can definitely feel the difference in the way my body feels. Today, I actually did 30 minutes on the treadmill in addition to the yoga.

Yay for me!
